The Bedroom Was Silent But Our Hearts Were Loud

The room was dark except for the soft yellow light beside the bed. Outside, the city was alive with distant sounds, but inside that bedroom, everything felt still. She sat near the window wearing my black hoodie, her hair falling loosely over her shoulders while she stared at the rain sliding down the glass.
I couldn’t stop looking at her.
She noticed and smiled slowly. “You’ve been staring at me all night.”
“Maybe because you’re impossible to ignore,” I replied.
She bit her lip lightly, then walked toward me with slow steps that made the tension between us even stronger. My heartbeat felt louder with every second she came closer. When she finally stood in front of me, neither of us spoke. We didn’t need words anymore.
Her fingers gently touched my hand before sliding up my arm. “Why does this feel dangerous?” she whispered softly.
“Because we both know we shouldn’t want this this much.”
She smiled at that, then pulled me closer by the collar of my shirt. The moment her lips met mine, every thought in my mind disappeared. The kiss started slow, warm, teasing, but quickly became impossible to resist. She moved closer until there was no space left between us, her hands around my neck while mine rested against her waist.
The bedroom stayed silent, but our breathing told the entire story.
She kissed me again, deeper this time, making my chest tighten with the way she looked at me afterward. Her eyes carried the kind of tension that could ruin self-control in seconds. I brushed her hair behind her ear while she leaned against me, smiling softly like she already knew the effect she had on me.
“You make it hard to think clearly,” I whispered.
“Good,” she replied with a quiet laugh before kissing me once more.
Time felt slower after that. We sat together on the edge of the bed while the rain continued outside, her head resting against my shoulder as my fingers traced slowly along her hand. Every glance between us felt intense, every touch filled with something neither of us wanted to stop.
That night wasn’t loud. There were no dramatic words, no music, no chaos. Just a quiet bedroom, soft rain outside, and two hearts beating so hard it felt like the silence itself could hear us.
