Her Smile Changed My Whole World
It started on an ordinary morning at college. The corridors were busy, students rushing everywhere, but Areeba noticed only one person.
Zoya.
She was sitting near the library window, sunlight falling softly on her face. She looked calm, lost in her book, like she didn’t even belong to the noisy world around her.
Areeba told herself it meant nothing. Just a random attraction. But she still came back the next day… and the next.
Each time, she sat a little closer.
One afternoon, Zoya finally looked up and caught her staring.
“Do you need this seat?” Zoya asked with a small smile.
Areeba froze for a second. “No… I just like it here.”
Zoya smiled again. That simple smile stayed in Areeba’s mind longer than anything else that day.
Days turned into weeks. Small talks began—about assignments, exams, random life things. Nothing big, but everything felt important.
Areeba started waiting for her without realizing it.
For her voice. Her presence. Her smile.
One evening, the library was almost empty. Golden sunlight filled the room as Zoya closed her book.
“You always sit here now,” she said softly.
Areeba nodded. “I guess I got used to it.”
Zoya tilted her head slightly. “Or maybe you got used to me.”
Silence fell between them. Not awkward… just real.
Areeba looked away for a moment, then back at her.
“Maybe I did,” she said quietly.
Zoya didn’t laugh. She just smiled again—but this time it was different. Softer. Deeper. Like she understood everything without needing more words.
Outside, the world kept moving. Cars, people, noise.
But inside that moment, everything slowed down.
And Areeba finally understood something she had been avoiding for a long time.
It wasn’t the library she kept coming back to.
It was her.
And that smile… had quietly changed her whole world.
